Eurovision

Monday, 22 May, 2006 at 2:30 pm (Blog)

I thought let’s be silly and post something about the Eurovision song contest.
My favorite songs are:
Finland HELL YEA! Awsome that they won!
Bosnië Hertzegovina (sorry if I misspelled it), a very nice sound (I love the ocarina bit)
Germany (a very nice Eurovision song, and nice touch to make it a country song)
Ukrain (it has a catchy tune, live was kinda good)
Anyways, Eurovision is nonsence anyway ;).
I do look forward to seeing Helsinki (especially if it would be winter time).
Not that I’m going, but via the TV of course :).
Cyall!

DSlinux Category first post ;)

Monday, 15 May, 2006 at 4:29 pm (Blog, DSlinux)

Hi all,
After Amadeus asked people over at the DSlinux forum to make a boot sound for DSlinux, I thought what the hey, let’s make one :).
So I’ve put mine (or well, the current “beta” :)) up.
Please tell me what you think and what I can change to make it even nicer (via the poll/contact form/mail).
Cheers,

Holiday!

Sunday, 30 April, 2006 at 9:09 am (Japanese)

Konnichiwa all,

Since it’s “meivakantie” (mai holiday) overhere I’ll try to start work on the exercises for my book (learing the kana). I hope that some of it (if not all) can be finished after this small vacation, but there is lot’s of other stuf I want to do this holiday too ;). It won’t be anything fancy (we’ve got some of my links for that) it’ll be some plain fill this in tasks. At the end, I want you all (and myself) to be able to make the Kana tables like in my book, but then with the correct stroke order (not typed on a computer). Anyways if I keep talking for to long it’ll never get done :). So sayonara to you all!

Just a few pic’s/happenings

Saturday, 22 April, 2006 at 7:12 pm (Blog)

I was looking through my foto-album to get the picture of me in my suit ;), and found a nice picture of me at a “koninkijke luchtmach stage” (a lesson, kinda) for Judo (with Mark Huisinga :D!).
So here, 2 “fun” (for you) pictures.

*Btw, why I call Vintrax Vicu-chan.
In Japanese, the “chan” is added to a (female’s) name if she is a close friend/family or younger person.
And Vicu-chan is shorter then typing Victoria-chan, and it’s easier to say :).

Prom ;)

Saturday, 22 April, 2006 at 10:57 am (Blog)

Intirely unrelated to Japanese, I had my prom last night ;).
It was really fun, and (even if it is a bit self credit) was very nicely set up.
This was my first prom so somewhat special, I even danced :D.
There were lots of my friend there, people from my class and people I know from other classes (like Vicu-chan).
I was in my “monkey suit”, and kinda felt really silly at first (I was almost the only one there at first, since I had to inspect the room, to see if everthing was as agreed on), but when after an hour+ other people started to come, it all went away since every guy was wearing a silly costume :).
Lot’s of people came (about 530 :S , our prom is for classes 4,5,6 from 6), so it became very hot real quick.
There were also 3 girls from the 6th class there, that always smile to me in the hallways, and like always, it wasn’t any different and I had to smile back :).

Vicu-chan looked real nice, her dress was very cool (I hope she posts a picture on her blog).
I also had a date, but she became sick during the evening, really sad.

To give you an idea on how the location looked:

We weren’t allowed to go outside of course, and all the chears and benches (well not all, but most of them) were removed.
The VJ was quite nice, it’s pretty fun for a change and give you something to look at ;).

Anyway, it was real cool, and if any pictures get online (on request a picture of me in my suit here in my garden can be placed too :D), I’ll post the adresses!

All anew

Thursday, 20 April, 2006 at 6:20 pm (Blog, Japanese)

Hi all,
It’s been very long since I posted something here (which I kinda regret).
Since I’ve been using my regular site (mostly) for my Japanese study, this page kinda became a dead one :).
Almost made me give it the BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death, for all non PC-ers) and pull the plug.

However since I came to the conlusion that writing my book via mail and a static site didn’t work real great, I’ve decided to start using my Blog again :).
Now for those of you wondering why I’m using WordPress and Joomla, it’s easy.
This way I don’t need to make a CMS and Blog system (and have to keep that on my hosting “:)).
And since learning HTML and etc. (except for some C to programm for my Nintendo DS) isn’t my goal, there is no need to write one.

I’m going to use this page mostly as a window for questions.
I’m gonna keep on learning Japanese and every time I come across something that is unclear to me, I’ll post it here.
That way, you can reply to me if it is correct (or just read what others say :D).
I hope that this way will easier for you and me.

So happy reading, studying and having fun!

Me and Japanese

Monday, 2 January, 2006 at 9:50 am (Dutch Japanese learners!)

To get this going I’ll post first ;).
My name is Simon, as you all know, and I’m learning Japanese.
I started to learn Japanese a few years ago, but with little succes.
My Japanese study was triggered bij the airing of Shogun on the german television, and an interest in eastern languages.
At first it was just a bit of a strange interest, but it soon grew to be a real, well.. kinda love.
I’ve recently been able to study a bit more, and a bit easier, because I found a lot of usefull information on the internet (english).
You can see most of my links on my site, 4073.bravehost.com .
I’ve also held a few presentations about Japanese, which resulted in a Japanese friend here in Holland 🙂 .
That about wraps it up, now it’s you’re turn!

Scorpei 😉
